Recycle - The third R of sustainability

Recycling is the third most crucial act and step in being sustainable. As we stated in our previous blog post, reducing and recycling often give way to each other. You recycle, you automatically buy less of the product. The simplest way to define recycling is to define it through a manifest perception, that to make the product worth other uses other than what it was designed for.

Recycling makes it light on the nature by limiting the extraction of raw materials to so much less than more than required. Every time you discard a cotton shirt, you waste tons and tons of water that has gone into its making. By reducing waste, natural resources and ecosystems, and biological diversity are conserved. And in turn environmental balance is maintained.

A sustainable future can be ensured when there are conscious decisions made over the 3 R's of sustainability, i.e. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Whether our children get a sustainable or an unsustainable world depends on the choices we make today.
